Waukesha, Racine, Madison to test energy efficient streetlights

Racine is testing energy efficient street lights

  1. They are using $795,000 Federal grant money to do it
  2. they replaced 1,000 of its 3,600 sodium lights
  3. It produces white light that has less of a glare
  4. 600 lights have been replaced so far
  5. 40% reduction in energy
  6. old lights lasted 3-5 years
  7. Expect Led’s to last up to 20 years
